在這一單元,同學們要掌握句子結構中的表語功能,表語在句中作為謂語動詞的一部分,用來說明主語的身份、性質、形狀、狀態、特征等。那么,什么可以作表語呢 ?

可以說系動詞也是考試的熱點,它用來表示狀態;它跟形容詞、名詞、介詞短語、動詞-ing形式、過去分詞等合用構成系表結構。常見的系動詞有:become , look , sound , smell , taste , seem , appear , prove , turn , go , remain , stay , fall等。

birth 是中學英語教材中的一常用詞,也常見于 birthday ( 生日 ) 、birthplace ( 出生地 ) 、birthrate ( 出生率 ) 和 birth control ( 計劃生育 ) 等一些復合名詞或短語之中。從字面看,這些復合詞和短語意義容易理解,但下面一些含 birth 的介詞短語和動詞短語對于中學生來說就不那么容易理解了。現將 at birth , at a birth , by birth , from birth , of…birth 與 give birth to 的用法作一總結,供同學們參考。

1 . at birth 意為 “ 出生時 ” ,相當于 when one was born 。例如:

2 . at a birth 表示 “ 一胎生育…… ” 。例如:

復習和歸納句子的成分 —— 謂語;復習情態動詞和實義動詞的時態。

在情態動詞中要重點掌握情態動詞的完成時的用法。如:should have done與should not have done , needn’t have done , must have done

這些一致你了如指掌嗎 ?

1. 主語 people 作“人們,人民”解時,謂語動詞用復數,作“民族”解時,有單復數之分。如:

Our people is a great one .

There are 56 peoples in China .

2 . 主語是 a / this / that kind of + 名詞,謂語用單數形式,主語指的不是一種而是多種,謂語動詞用復數。如:

This kind of cloth feels soft .

There are different kinds of animals .

3 . 主語是“each of … ”,“neither of … ”,“either of … ”,“one of … ”等時,其謂語用單數。如:

Each of them has his own duty .

4 . 陳述部分用 everybody , everyone , somebody , someone , anybody , anyone , nobody , no one 或 no + 復數名詞等作主語時,反意部分用 they。而陳述部分用 everything , something , nothing , anything 時,反意部分代詞則采用單數,用 it 。

Somebody is waiting for you , aren't they ?

Everything is all right , isn't it ?

5 . 動名詞或動詞不定式作主語,其謂語用單數形式。

When and where to build the new factory is not decided yet .

6 . 用引號的詞語作主語時,謂語用單數第三人稱。

“I” is the ninth letter of the English Alphabet .

7 . 在強調結構中如被強調的是句子的主語,則 who 或 that 后面的謂語動詞的人稱和數應和主語一致。

It is Mike who always helps me study maths after class .

8 . wish 后接賓語從句用虛擬語氣,如表示與現在事實相反,無論主語是單數還是復數,be 動詞用 were。

I wish I were ten years younger .

9 . police , cattle 等集合名詞作主語時,謂語用復數。

The murderer has run away . The police are searching for him .

10 . 算式中表示數目的主語通??醋鲉螖?,其謂語常用單數形式,也可用復數。

Five times four is twenty .

11 . youth 作“青年們”解作主語時,謂語用復數。

The youth of China today are doing their best to study modern science and technology .

12 . each 作同位語放在復數主語后,謂語不受單數 each 的影響。如:

一、教法建議

本單元通過對迪斯尼樂園及沃爾特?迪斯尼本人成功之路的簡介,使學生了解美國文化特色的同時樹立起正確的成功觀,培養百折不撓的意志品質;學習并熟練掌握問路、引路等日常交際用語;總結歸納賓語從句,并通過創設情境,使學生能夠靈活運用。

1.consider 作“考慮”講時,是及物動詞,其后可接名詞、動名詞或從句。作“認為、以為”講時,后常跟that從句,復合賓語或consider…as/ to be…,相當于think。例如:
